The Facilitative Working Group of the Local Communities and Indigenous Peoples Platform will hold its 14th meeting (FWG 14) from Tuesday, 4 November to Friday, 7 November 2025.  

The FWG 14 meeting will open on 4 November at 14:00 BRT

Visa Guidelines

All registered in-person participants are responsible for making necessary visa arrangement. Please consult the Visa Guidelines document in Resources List below. 

Registration and badges

Registered participants are invited to arrive between 10:00 and 13:00 for registration and badge collection at the Margarida Schivasappa Theater (kindly note that registration for FWG 14 is separate from the registration for COP, and you will only receive your FWG 14 badge at the Margarida Schivasappa Theater). Please bring a passport or national ID for the registration. 

Access: The conference area is for officially registered FWG 14 participants. Please wear your badges visibly at all times to comply with UNFCCC security requirements. If you lose your badge, please report immediately at the registration counter or via email (lcipp@unfccc.int).

Virtual Participation

The participants registered for virtual participation will receive a link to join the meeting virtually 1-2 days before the first day of the meeting. The link will be sent via email.  

Live Streaming

Those who haven’t registered and wish to observe the FWG 14 meeting, can follow the live stream on the official UNFCCC YouTube channel. The streaming will be arranged in all interpretation languages (EN/SP/FR/RU + POR). No prior registration is required. Interpretation

Remote simultaneous interpretation will be provided by the secretariat in English, Spanish, French and Russian. Additionally, Portuguese interpretation is being arranged by the Government of Brazil.

At its 11th meeting, the FWG agreed to further explore more participatory and innovative formats, including poster/gallery displays and expanded speaking slots, to make the agenda more interactive and promote interregional and intergenerational exchanges and awareness-raising.

Poster and Gallery Displays
  
If you would like to display case studies, photographs, or other relevant materials in the poster/gallery area of FWG 14, please email LCIPP@unfccc.int in advance with a brief description so the secretariat can reserve a display board for you.

Note: On-site printing is not available. The secretariat will arrange display space only.

Informal Collaborative Reflection Space

Each day from 17:00 – 17:45, LCIPP contributors are invited to a collaborative reflection session, featuring a collective canvas and timeline for creative contributions, poster and gallery displays, and a reflection area on upcoming FWG 14 agenda items. 

Your inputs will advance the implementation of the Baku Workplan, enrich the LCIPP work, and strengthen the engagement of Indigenous Peoples and local communities in relevant work across the UNFCCC process. Further details will be shared through the respective agenda item below.
