Parties requested the secretariat, with the support of the Facilitative Working Group, to make the work of the Local Communities and Indigenous Peoples Platform (LCIPP) widely accessible, including through the development of a dedicated web portal on the LCIPP.
The LCIPP was established to promote exchange of experiences and best practices, build capacity for engagement, and harness the power of diverse knowledge systems and innovations to address climate change challenges in a holistic way.
This event will share the participatory approach to design and develop the LCIPP web portal. The event will also share practical ways to exchange experiences and raise the voice of indigenous peoples and local communities, while upholding the principles of the free, prior and informed consent (FPIC). Contributors will provide insights in how they want to use the portal to share information.
